My Favorite West Michigan Wedding Venues
As a wedding coordinator who works at venues all over West Michigan, there are Top 10 West Michigan Wedding Venues that have stood out time and time again. These are spaces where timelines run smoothly, photos turn out beautifully, and couples walk away genuinely happy. Below are four of my long-time favorites and why I continue to love working at each one.
1. Blue Heron Barn – Kalamazoo, MI
Blue Heron Barn blends rustic charm with clean, elegant simplicity. Set along the river in the Kalamazoo countryside, it offers exposed beams, warm string lights, and a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space that photographs beautifully in every season.
Why I love it: The owners. They’re some of the kindest, most genuine people in West Michigan’s wedding industry and consistently go above and beyond for their couples. Their attention to detail shows in everything they do.
Perks: Linens included in your rental and access to their “Something Blue” décor collection, which is packed with beautiful pieces you can mix into your wedding design.
2. Bay Pointe – Shelbyville, MI
Bay Pointe will always have a soft spot in my heart (it’s where my husband and I had our first date), but personal bias aside, this venue is run exceptionally well. The staff is organized, communicative, and operates like a well-oiled machine.
Why I love it: Versatility. Bay Pointe offers multiple distinct spaces in one location. Their all-inclusive packages with in-house catering and bartending simplify planning for couples who want a streamlined experience.
Heads up for vendors: That steep hill at the Pavilion will absolutely humble you after a long décor load-in… my calves can confirm.
3. Hidden Vineyard Wedding Barn – Berrien Springs, MI
Hidden Vineyard has one of the most magical ceremony spots in of the Top 10 West Michigan Wedding Venues. The iconic Catalpa Tree, the sweeping vineyard backdrop, and the way the sunset hits the fields make it unforgettable every single time.
Why I love it: The layout is smart. Sliding doors open from the lower level near the groom’s suite so the entire bridal party can line up discreetly. For couples skipping a first look, it guarantees that true “first sight” moment.
Unique perk: Their “Honeybee” mobile bar, the cutest vintage trailer bar you can add to your package.
4. Augusta Creek – Delton, MI
Augusta Creek is a newer relationship for me, and it’s quickly become a Top 10 West Michigan Wedding Venues for me. I’m excited to return to. Set on 106 acres, it offers a spacious, rustic-luxury feel with beautiful woodwork and thoughtful craftsmanship throughout.
Why I love it: The indoor/outdoor flow. Large sliding glass doors lead to the beer garden, creating a seamless layout for guests. The surrounding woods give the whole space a warm, southern-country vibe.
Favorite features: A massive bridal suite, an equally impressive groom’s suite (complete with a golf simulator), multiple bathrooms, kitchenettes, and everything a wedding party could need to settle in for the day.
5. Bella Giornata Events – Benton Harbor, MI
Bella Giornata is the kind of venue that feels warm, intentional, and guest-centered from the moment you arrive. We’ve coordinated several weddings here, including stunning May celebration, and every event has been beautiful and seamless.
Why we love it: The natural light, neutral interior, and thoughtful layout make it incredibly easy to design within. Outdoor photo spots are plentiful, and the staff is consistently amazing.
Best for couples who: Want a modern, romantic venue with indoor/outdoor flexibility and a stress-free planning experience.
6. Revel Run – Chelsea, MI
Revel Run is one of Michigan’s most versatile and scenic wedding properties, offering rolling fields, wooded paths, water views, and multiple event barns. Landing it on my Top 10 West Michigan Wedding Venues list.
Why we love it: It’s huge — meaning endless photo opportunities and flexible ceremony setups. The vibe is rustic without being outdated, and it’s perfect for couples wanting that “private estate” feel.
Best for couples who: Want an expansive, nature-forward venue with room to personalize every detail
7. MillCreek Wilde + Blue Dress Barn – Benton Harbor, MI
Owned by the same team, these sister venues are staples in the Southwest Michigan wedding world. We’ve been here countless times as coordinators, and the experience is always smooth.
Why we love it: MillCreek Wilde offers a wooded, whimsical feel with lush greenery and charming touches. Blue Dress Barn is iconic, rustic, romantic, and full of Michigan character.
Best for couples who: Love the barn aesthetic but still want structure, style, and a well-run venue team behind the scenes.
8. Millhaven – Marshall, MI
Millhaven has quickly become one of our favorite hidden gems. Its story is part of what makes it special: the venue is a restored historic pickle factory, right in the heart of Marshall’s beautiful downtown.
Why we love it: High ceilings, original brick, industrial windows, and the perfect blend of historic charm and modern romance. It’s owned by the same team behind Greencrest Manor, one of Michigan’s most luxury, jaw-dropping venues, so the level of quality is exactly what you’d expect.
Best for couples who: Want something unique, architectural, and design-forward without traveling far for a luxury experience.
9. Black River Barn – South Haven, MI
Black River Barn is spacious, elegant, and perfectly located near South Haven’s beaches and charming downtown. We coordinated Madelin’s October 2024 wedding here and the flow of the day was flawless easily making it one of our Top 10 West Michigan Wedding Venues.
Why we love it: The modern barn design, clean interior palette, and flexible ceremony locations mean you can lean romantic, modern, rustic, or classic, it all works.
Best for couples who: Want a barn venue that feels elevated, polished, and convenient for guests visiting the lakeshore.
10. Gull Lake Country Club – Richland, MI
Gull Lake Country Club offers a stunning lakeside setting with an upscale, timeless feel. It’s one of the most picturesque waterfront venues in West Michigan, and our recent September 2025 wedding with Maura showcased how incredible the golden-hour views truly are.
Why we love it: Lakeside ceremonies, sailboat-dotted backgrounds, a newly updated clubhouse, and impeccable service.
Best for couples who: Want a refined, classic Michigan wedding with beautiful scenery and a seamless guest experience.
While I’ve worked with countless venues and wonderful owners across Western Michigan, these four have truly stolen my heart in 2024. Each offers something unique while maintaining that perfect balance of beauty, functionality, and genuine hospitality that makes for an unforgettable wedding day.
